Motorized Shades

Motorized Shades offer the most amount of flexibility in controlling the light that enters a room. These shades come in three models: Switch Operated Hard Wired, Remote Control Battery Operated and Remote Control Hard Wired.

Various models are available - some with remote control and others with wall mounted switches. The Switch Model is operated with hard wiring and a power supply (transformer) to convert 120-volt house current to 9 volts direct current. (It may also be operated by a remote control in addition to the switch). The Remote Control Models can be hard wired into regular house current with a power supply, or not hard wired by powering the motor by a lithium battery pack located next to the shade head-rail. The anticipated life of the lithium batteries is 2 years. The remote control operates up to 50 feet from the shade.

Special Options

A Dusk/Dawn Sensor is available for remote control only models which opens or closes the shade when it becomes light or dark outside. If the infrared eye in the shade head-rail is obscured by a curtain or beam a Satellite Eye is available which allows the infrared eye to be located up to 10" from the head-rail. Special Long Lead Battery Packs are available to move the battery pack to more accessible locations.
